Manchester United dominate nominations for Europe’s best young player

Three nominations from the leaked 40-man Fifa list.

Adnan Januzaj, Luke Shaw and Anthony Martial will battle it out with the likes of Rúben Neves [Porto] and Kingsley Coman [Bayern Munich] for the Fifa 2015 Golden Boy award.

Several outlets have got an early glimpse at the Premier League players who were nominated for the prestigious prize.

It makes for good reading for several Premier League sides, with United leading the way.

The other  players plying their footballing trade in England are Arsenal’s Hector Bellerin, Jordon Ibe and Divock Origi [both Liverpool], Delle Ali [Tottenham], Chelsea duo Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Nathan Ake (on loan at Watford), Adama Traore [Aston Villa] and Manchester City’s Kelechi Iheanacho.

Manchester City’s Jason Denayer, who is on loan at Galatasary, is also nominated, as is Chelsea’s Mario Pasalic, currently at Monaco.

The prize was won by Wayne Rooney in 2004 and Brazilian midfielder Anderson in 2008. Raheem Sterling claimed the accolade last year.

Fifa are set to officially announce the 40-man shortlist, all of whom must be 21 and under, in the coming days.
