That Christmas card list must be getting pretty thin now.
Poor Louis van Gaal has had another tirade launched at him in the media and all he’s done was mind his own business and start winning games.
But one of his former players has hit out and called the United boss “scum”.
Van Gaal had two spells at Barcelona and so, too, did Hristo Stoichkov but the Bulgarian has accused the Dutch man of driving him out of the Nou Camp in 1998.
And he didn’t exactly hold back on his thoughts when speaking with L’Équipe.
“I have no respect for him, he’s scum,” Stoichkov has obviously mellowed about the situation in the last 17 years.
“My departure in 1998 was the fault of van Gaal for sure.
“One day, when I was injured and I was with my wife at the Nou Camp. He went up to her and asked ‘how was possible that she married someone like me?’
“She responded that I was a Ballon d’Or winner.”
Well, at least she was honest. Because obviously it was nothing to do with that love thing they talk about.
– ‘Wait, you love me, too. Right, honey?’
– ‘You’re a really good footballer, Hristo.’
– ‘And you love me.’
– ‘You have lots of money.’
