Not a single win from nine matches.

That is Manchester City’s record against the other five teams in the Premier League top six.

The top six being Leicester City, Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal, Manchester United and West Ham.

Three draws is all Manuel Pellegrini’s side have managed nine matches against their closest competitors.

Three away draws – at Old Trafford, the King Power and Upton Park – are all Manchester City have to show from those matches.

Since announcing his departure to make way for Pep Guardiola, on February 1st, Pellegrini has overseen seven Premier League matches. Defeat at Old Trafford on Sunday was their fourth in that time, to go with two victories and a draw.

The team many were anointing as champions back in September when they opened with five wins on the trot are now in danger of missing out on a place in the Champions League.

If Guardiola arrives for Europa League football you could see the likes of Jesus Navas, Eliaquim Mangala and Martin Demichelis paying the price.
