Pep Guardiola’s key Manchester City target has ruled out working with him

Is Pep looking to bring him to Eastlands

Kevin McGillicuddy

Neymar is a very busy man this afternoon.

Earlier today we told you that Florentno Perez is looking to pull off the maddest transfer of probably the decade by trying to tempt him –  Luis Figo style –  to Real Madrid.

The forward is known to be facing some issues regarding his transfer from Brazil to Spain, and his father has been highly critical of the high tax his son is paying while in Barcelona.

However there could be some good news for one club in Manchester if reports today are accurate as the former Santos man arrived home from a short Christmas break.

According to AS, the striker responded positively when he was asked about interest from Manchester City, answering ‘Yes yes”, when asked about City’s reported desire to bring him to England.

However, when he was asked directly about joining the former Premier League champions, and possibly working under Pep Guardiola, the Brazil international was more affirmative, but in the negative

No, not that.”

Neymar has formed a deadly partnership with Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez this season  and also confirmed that he is in contract negotiations with the club over a possible new deal.

However, he was also non-committal about his long term future in Camp Nou when asked if he would ever leave the club

“I don’t know, life is long.”

Is that an invitation for someone with deep pockets to try and steal him away? Or just clever negotiation tactics?
