There’s going to be an awful lot of people walking around with the right kit but the wrong squad number this season.
Quite a few Premier League clubs released the official shirt numbers of their players today and there were a number of surprises.
Luke Shaw opted to change from number 3 to 23 which left some fans annoyed because they had already bought the new Manchester United home kit with 3 on the back.
But, as we told you earlier, the United left back did the right thing and offered to replace the jersey for certain supporters who had tweeted him.

Manchester City have had to do something similar, albeit on a slightly larger scale, after they unveiled Sergio Aguero’s new squad number of 10.
“Fans can send their no 16 shirts to be signed by Sergio and sent back to them, or to exchange for an unsigned no 10 shirt. Please note that only 2015/16 Season shirts with Kun Aguero 16 will be accepted.”
But keen to keep supporters sweet, the club announced that supporters could send any number 16 Aguero home jerseys this season into the Etihad and have the choice of having the striker sign the shirt and send it back or get a fresh jersey with the Argentine’s new squad number.
Manchester City doing things right.
