Man United hope it will sweeten the deal

Manchester United are set to offer Dean Henderson as part of a deal to sign Harry Kane from Tottenham Hotspur this summer.

Kane has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford with Erik ten Hag desperate to bolster his attacking reinforcements.

With Hugo Lloris also reaching the age of 36, Spurs will plan to look ahead to the future and sign a more long-term goalkeeping option and United believe they can use that to sweeten the deal.

ESPN are reporting that the Red Devils are prepared to offer Henderson – who is currently on loan at Nottingham Forest – to Spurs as part of a deal which will see Kane move to the North West.

Henderson is likely to leave the club in the summer regardless after he criticised United for misleading him on the amount of game time he will get.

Spurs are reportedly looking for an upfront fee of £100m to part ways with Kane so it’s likely that Henderson will be included in that but United could even drop down their offer with the 26-year-old set to be part of the move.

The England captain will have 12 months left on his contract in the summer and with Tottenham set to end another year trophyless, the pressure on Kane to leave and pursue the ultimate goal of winning silverware is increasing by the day.

When asked about his future by the Evening Standard Kane remained tight-lipped, saying: “There’s not been much talk if I’m totally honest.

“I’m sure they’ll be conversations over the coming months but, to be honest, I’m just focused on this season and doing my best for the team.

“I know there’s going to be rumours, a lot of talk and speculation about my future but I’m just focused on what I can do.”
