The Red Devils are currently experiencing their longest trophy drought in 40 years.

On Sunday, Man United are aiming to win their first trophy since 2017 when they won the Europa League under Jose Mourinho. They also won the League Cup that season, beating Southampton in the final.

They come into the game in excellent form. Erik ten Hag’s team have only lost one match since November 6, and have not lost in their last nine games.

Marcus Rashford is enjoying the best spell of his career and no player in Europe’s top-five leagues has scored more goals since the World Cup break.

Newcastle, meanwhile, are aiming to win their first major trophy since 1969.

The Magpies are experiencing their best period in almost 20 years after over £300m was invested in the first team by the Saudi Public Investment Fund, which owns 80% of the club.

Eddie Howe’s team are currently in fifth place in the Premier League but have only won one of their last six matches in the division.
