Man United statement on Harry Maguire

Wayne Farry

Harry Maguire was reportedly arrested on the Greek island Mykonos in the early hours of the morning.

And Manchester United have released a statement on the captain, following an reported altercation.

According to reports, Maguire was arrested on Thursday night after allegedly attacking police following an incident involving other British tourists.

Three men, one believed to be the centre-half, were detained in the early hours of Friday morning.

In a statement issued on Friday morning, Manchester United said: The club is aware of an alleged incident involving Harry Maguire in Mykonos last night. Contact has been made with Harry, and he is fully co-operating with the Greek authorities. At this time we will be making no further comment.”

In his first season at Manchester United following his world record move from Leicester City, Maguire has been pivotal in establishing his side’s newly found defensive stability.

In 38 leagues games last season, United conceded just 36 goals; the third best defensive record in the Premier League after Liverpool and Manchester City.
