Manchester City dealt a big setback in chase for Robert Lewandowski

This is what his agent said...

As Pep Guardiola prepares to take over at Manchester City, there has been plenty of speculation about the players he will look to sign.

One name to have cropped up is Robert Lewandowski, top scorer with Guardiola’s current club Bayern Munich, but it seems as though the Polish international is happy to stay put.

“Lewandowski is with a team that suits him – there is no need to change anything,” agent Cezary Kucharski told PolsatSport.

“The English write of English clubs, the French about PSG, Spaniards about Real Madrid and Italians link him with Juventus,” Kucharski added.

Lewandowski has scored 33 goals in as many games for club and country this season, including a remarkable five in nine minutes in the Bundesliga victory over Wolfsburg.

He has already reached 50 goals for Bayern in just a season and a half, and was the top scorer across the nine Euro 2016 qualifying groups after finding the net 13 times in 10 games for Poland.

But it seems a move away from Bayern is out of the question, with Kucharski confirming talks have begun over a new deal.
