“This is the one you wanted, right? The man in the shop told me you’d like this one.”
This Arsenal fan had a horror moment this Christmas when opening one of his gifts from his beloved mother.
After shaking it to determine whether it was a football or not (presumably this is standard practice around the globe when opening presents), the Gooner’s heart must have sank after tearing off the wrapping paper to reveal a book bearing the image of one of his club’s most hated villains.
This is a classic case of someone meaning well but just getting it horribly wrong. After all, this would have been a perfectly acceptable gift for an Arsenal fan in 2011.
Either that or whoever sold the poor woman the book had a field day telling his co-workers what he managed to convince someone to buy for their hardcore Arsenal fan son for Christmas. Oh yeah, I bet he had a good laugh over that one.
I've just unwrapped this because my mum thought he still played for Arsenal pic.twitter.com/IS0siAcd4G
