Barcelona still have one more instalment left to pay on the Luis Suarez transfer, according to a leaked document.
Football Leaks have released Luis Suarez’s transfer agreement from his Liverpool move to Barcelona.
According to the leaked document, the exact fee the Catalans paid for the Uruguayan superstar was £64.98m, paid out over five instalments.
Amazingly, there are no add-ons in the contract.
Suarez helped Barcelona to the La Liga title and the Champions League last season – honours that would often be included in a transfer as requiring additional payments – but no such clauses were added.
Suarez has again excelled this season at the Nou Camp and is likely to be a serious contender for the Ballon d’Or, but again no add-ons were included in the deal.
Liverpool chief executive Ian Ayre has been coming under fire on Twitter for this lack of foresight.
£64.98m the exact figure #LFC sold Suarez for. Not a single add-on or clause. And some people still query if Ayre leaving is a good thing.

How can you sell Suarez for 64.98 million? What is wrong with Ian Ayre. The sooner he leaves the club the better

People ask why the hate for Ayre. Well Suarez £65m only is the reason why so many are so happy he's leaving @LFC

The payment structure of the transfer was: £13m on 31/7/14, £13m on 31/1/15, £13m on 31/7/15, £13m on 31/1/16 and £12.98m on 31/7/16.
There is a distinct lack of clauses and stipulations in the agreement, meaning that Barcelona do not have to pay Liverpool anything extra should Suarez claim any accolades such as the Ballon d’Or or the top goalscorer of La Liga, which is unusual for a modern football transfer.
