Security staff were seen checking under tables, behind curtains and other nooks and crannies for spy gadgets in the dining hall at Manchester's Lowry Hotel before Van Gaal gave the OK to allow his players in, according to The Sun.
"Everyone knows the boss is really on-the-ball when it comes to bugs and others spying on him or his team," a source told the newspaper.
"The hotel would be an easy target as far as the manager is concerned because they all stay there before a match, so he has it checked."
