Disciplinaire extraodinaire

If you’re not on LVG’s watch, you better watch out.

Marouane Fellaini revealed that Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal once flipped out at a group of players for being roughly 60 seconds late for lunch.

Van Gaal, who is known for being a strict disciplinarian, and has introduced  a fining system to punish players since coming to Old Trafford.

“He blew a fuse the other day when a group of 10 of us were one minute late for lunch after training,” Fellaini said.

“You think one minute is nothing and it wasn’t for training, but for the canteen. For him it’s important though.”

However, it isn’t just a lackadaisical approach to punctuality that sets off the fuming Dutchman, he also slaps players with a penalty for egregious behaviour on the pitch.

“He dished out a few fines. That’s what happens to late-comers and even for a red card. You get fined, too, for a bad foul.”

That seems a little bit less mental that punishing someone for being slightly late to a meal, alright.
