The FAI cup clash between Sheriff YC and Athlone Town sounds like one hell of a spectacle.
Sports photographer Ashley Cahill, who’s at the match, explained that one Athlone Town player’s involvement in the game was hindered slightly after being locked in the dressing room for an extended period.
Madness…one of this Athlone Town squad has just entered the pitch area having been locked in the dressing room for the 1st 30 mins!!!

As Cahill reported, extra measures were undertaken to ensure that every player was on the pitch for the second half.

Cahill went on to emphasise that the security was out in force at the game, and they had their work cut out early.
Look of confusion among the home officials as team sheets are requested in Clontarf!!! More security than supporters here #farce

More confusion in Clontarf as supporters aren't sure whether they paid in to the FAI Cup game or the Gaa Junior game on in the pitch beside

In between all that madness, some football was actually played.
