When the future’s uncertain the end is always near.
It may not quite be the end of days yet for Christian Benteke at Anfield, but the sense the Belgian’s time in red is drawing to a close has been accelerated by a devastating interview he gave earlier this week.
The 25-year-old questioned Jurgen Klopp and openly demanded an answer to why he was not starting more games.
The interview has all but sealed the former Aston Villa man’s fate you’d feel at Liverpool, with the club looking to recoup as much of the £32million they paid for him last summer.
And in order to do that, the morning papers are suggesting a part-exchange-loan deal may be organised with a Serie A side in the coming months.
The Mirror are reporting that Liverpool are interested in capturing Leandro Paredes from Roma, and will offer Benteke as part of any deal.
Leandro Paredes: Of U21 players in Serie A this season, only 1 has won possession in the middle third more times than Paredes (109)

Paredes is on loan currently at Empoli and is highly rated in Serie A, while his parent club are understood to have tried to sign Benteke last summer, but instead purchased Edin Dzeko.
Atletico Madrid, Juventus and West Ham are also said to be keeping tabs on the striker, who is odds-on not to be at Anfield next season.
