Luis Suarez is still hugely popular among Liverpool fans despite leaving the club for Barcelona in 2014.

The Uruguayan, who top-scored for the Reds in his final Premier League season, scored a remarkable 56 goals in just 51 games this season.

But despite going on to bigger and better things since leaving Anfield, many supporters will have been prepared to welcome him back with open arms once it was announced that Liverpool and Barcelona would be meeting in a close-season friendly.

It was a game that was originally earmarked for the Aviva Stadium in Dublin and while that would have been a dream fixture for any Irish-based Reds the alternative isn’t too bad either.

Liverpool have confirmed that they will now face Barcelona at Wembley Stadium on Saturday August 6, one week before the 2016/17 Premier League season begins.

With a 90,000 capacity tickets shouldn’t be too hard to come by so if you have any friends or family in London and fancy seeing Messi, Suarez, Neymar and whoever plays for Liverpool next season in the flesh then you may want to have a look at some flights now.
