Transfer Talk: Liverpool ready to seal deal for Danny Ings and move for Yoann Gourcuff

England striker seems to prefer Merseyside rain to Spanish sun

Danny Ings must be the most confused man in football at the moment. He’s been the talk of the transfer market for, oh the last six months or so at this stage, but it seems that he may be finally close to sorting out his future.

The Burnley striker, who’s out of contract in the summer, has been linked with moves to Liverpool or to David Moyes’ Real Sociedad in recent weeks, with deals to join one or the other in January just falling through at the last minute.

However, according to this morning’s Daily Mirror, it seems that the 22-year-old had decided he will stay in the Premier League and team up with international teammate Daniel Sturridge at Anfield next season. Even though he’s out of contract in June he could cost Liverpool up to €10 million in a tribunal.

Staying with news of comings and goings at Anfield and Brendan Rodgers is eying up France midfielder Yoann Gourcuff.

The Lyon man is highly rated on the continent but has been beset with injuries over the last number of years.

He sounds a bit like Alberto Aquilani to us but Liverpool may have to fight off interest from several clubs, including Manchester City, if they wish to capture his signature according to the Daily Star

Good news for Manchester United fans this morning as it seems that one of the key clubs chasing David de Gea is almost ready to give up on signings the goalkeeper.

The Spain international has been one of the stand-out performers for LVG this season but Real Madrid are set to look elsewhere for a replacement for Iker Casillas.

De Gea hasn’t signed a new long term deal at the club yet but according to the Daily Mail Carlo Ancelotti isn’t interested in him anymore, and chiefs at Old Trafford are confident they’ll hold onto one of their prized assets.

According to the Daily Star the 15-year-old is one of the best talents in Europe and had already been earmarked as a future senior international, having recently appeared at U16 level for Spain

David Moyes might be a out to raid one of his old clubs for a summer signing.

According to today’s Daily Express the ex-Everton boss is looking to snap up Bryan Oviedo this summer.

The Costa Rican has played just 11 times this season at Goodison and is seen very much as a back-up player under Roberto Martinez.
