What a signing that would be.
It has been a quiet transfer window for Liverpool in comparison to their fellow titles contenders.
While Manchester United have splashed big on Romelu Lukaku, Chelsea brought in Alvaro Morata and Manchester City has brought in a host of players including £50m Kyle Walker.
The only big summer signing that Jürgen Klopp has made is that of Mohamed Salah for a fee in the region of £38m but there has been a lot of speculation that Naby Keita from Red Bull Leipzig could be Liverpool bound.
The 22-year-old is valued at about £75m but Leipzig has rebuffed Liverpool’s latest bid of £66m for the player.
According to the Mirror, the Anfield club is making one final push to sign their top transfer target.
The club is set to bid in excess of £70m but manager Jürgen Klopp remained tight-lipped over the whole thing telling reporters that “I don’t talk about that.”
If Liverpool are to miss out on signing the Guinean international they will have the chance to bring the player to England next summer as a release clause kicks in on his contract from next year at a significantly lower price of £48m.
