When will this end?

Raheem Sterling and agent in controversy shocker.

It’s been another busy day in the Raheem Sterling transfer saga.

Liverpool have cancelled scheduled talks scheduled for Friday with Sterling’s agent, Aidy Ward.

The news that the discussions with chief executive Ian Ayre were off came just hours after Ward was alleged to have made some pretty out there comments to London’s Evening Standard newspaper.

Ward has since denied telling the paper that there is absolutely no chance that Sterling will sign a contract, regardless of how much money is on the table.

“He is definitely not signing,” the Standard claim Ward told them.

“He’s not signing for £700, £800, £900 thousand a week. He is not signing.

“My job is to make sure I do the best with them [my clients]. If people say I am bad at my job, or they are badly advised, it does not matter.

“How did this all occur? There is no smoke without fire.

“I don’t care about the PR of the club and the club situation. I don’t care.

“I am not worried. Worried is making a decision not knowing what is going to happen. Every Premier League club will make a bid for him.”

Liverpool have obviously decided that the quotes, which are still running on the Standard’s website and appeared in their Thursday evening print edition, are genuine and feel there is no point going into talks if their mind is already made up.

Ward is also alleged to have ripped into Jamie Carragher for criticising Sterling’s behaviour.

“Carragher is a knob,” he is quoted as saying.

“Everybody knows it. Any of the criticism from current pundits or ex-Liverpool players – none of them things matter to me. It is not relevant.”

And so the saga continues. The worst part is that technically we’re still in the Raheem Sterling contract saga stage.

The drawn out transfer saga is still ahead of us.
