Liverpool fans will probably be watching more German football this season than in previous years, and those who tuned in to Friday night’s action won’t have been disappointed.
RB Leipzig took on Hamburg in the Bundesliga, and Naby Keita, Liverpool’s new signing, scored a screamer.
Liverpool completed a deal for Keita last month after chasing him for the entire transfer window. Leipzig wouldn’t sell the player, and rejected numerous bids from the Premier League club. However, Liverpool eventually triggered Keita’s release clause, worth £48m, and paid an additional fee on top of that to ensure the Guinea midfielder ends up at Anfield.
He’ll join the club next summer, and proved on Friday night that he’s worth the wait.
With 67 minutes gone, and the game scoreless, Keita broke the deadlock with a stunning goal. The 22-year-old collected the ball around 30-yards from goal, dribbled away from an opposition player and hit a brilliant strike that flew past the Hamburg keeper.

Leipzig went on to win 2-0 and Liverpool fans were left very excited about their new signing.
