Former Chelsea and Inter Milan striker Andriy Shevchenko was on hand to make the draw and it certainly lines up some heavyweight clashes. Holders Madrid drew Juventus while Barcelona were matched up against Italian side Roma. Sevilla were rewarded for their heroics against Manchester United with the tough task against Bayern Munich.
The open draw rules meant that clubs from the same country could draw each other. This indeed happened and the all English clash between City and Liverpool will have football fans very excited. Both sides hold a victory over each other this season, with Liverpool the only side to beat Manchester City in the league in this campaign.
The quarter finals all set up mouthwatering ties. The games will be played between the 3rd and 4th of Aprill with the return leg on the 10th and 11th.
