A couple of La Liga defenders could be heading to the Premier League in the summer window
Liverpool might be lining up a move for Barcelona defender Adriano, so the Express reports. The Reds might have to trigger the Brazilian’s £15m release clause but it is understood that Barcelona could allow him to leave for about half that price. His contract runs out at Camp Nou in 2017.
According to the Mundo Deportivo, Manchester United are keeping an eye on Barcelona right back Dani Alves. The flamboyant Brazilian’s contract with the Spanish behemoths is up in June and the Red Devils might see him as a cost effective addition to their defence.
Even though Barcelona are restricted by a transfer embargo until next January, they have apparently already started compiling a list of potential replacements for Alves, who has been with the club since 2008. Porto’s Danilo, Borussia Dortmund’s Lukasz Piszczek and PSG’s Serge Aurier have all been linked with a move to the Camp Nou.
Real Madrid are rumoured to be interested in bringing Radamel Falcao to the Bernabeu, according to the Mail. The Monaco forward hasn’t enjoyed the greatest run of form since signing for Manchester United on loan at the start of the season which means the club are unlikely to make the move permanent. Madrid might try to get the Colombian to reignite his stellar form that saw him reach superstar status at rivals Atletico Madrid.
The Express are reporting that Arsenal have a keen interest in signing former Manchester united midfielder Paul Pogba. This comes after Southampton’s stellar league form has foiled their plan to sign Morgan Schneiderlin. The Saints midfielder was very vocal about his desire to move to a “big club” but since the Southampton have been pushing for a Champions League spot, he explained that he will have to wait and see before deciding on his future.
A career passes quickly and I want to play for a big club. Today I am at Southampton, it’s going well.
We’ll see at the end of the season if [a transfer] will happen.
Pogba, who has been lighting up the Serie A with Juventus, could be an alternative target for the Gunners, should Schneiderlin decided to stay at St Mary’s next year.
Tottenham, on the other hand, could be lining up a transfer for “the next Pogba”. The Mirror claim that Spurs are looking to bring Sporting Lisbon’s highly-touted midfielder Bubacar Djalo to White Hart Lane. The 18-year-old has been pegged as the next Paul Pogba and is out of contract at the Portuguese club. It is understood that the hot prospect would prefer a move to the English top flight over the Serie A, where several clubs are interested in his signature.
