Jürgen Klopp isn’t messing around this summer

Liverpool’s season only finished late on Saturday night, yet it seems they’re wasting no time at all in getting their transfer business boxed off.

With Naby Keita set to complete his move to Anfield this summer, Liverpool tied up a deal to bring Brazilian midfielder Fabinho to the club from AS Monaco on Monday night.

Now, barely 48 hours on, reports from France claim the Champions League finalists have placed an opening bid for Lyon’s Nabil Fekir.

Fekir is currently with the French national team and scored during their 2-0 victory over Ireland in their World Cup warm-up game on Monday. He’s been linked with Liverpool numerous times over the last few weeks, and reports claim his agent would like his future to be decided prior to the start of next month’s World Cup.

According to Le Parisien, Liverpool’s bid for the 24-year-old is said to be €60m (£52.6m) and is thought to be under consideration from the Ligue 1 club.

In an interview given to RMC shortly after signing for Liverpool, Fabinho praised Fekir, saying it would be “good” if he joined him on Merseyside.

“He is a very good player, of international level,” Fabinho said.

“In Ligue 1, it is not only this season that he has demonstrated things.  It’s been a few years since he demonstrates his quality.

“If he comes, it will be good too.”

Fekir scored 21 times for Lyon this season, including one in a Europa League victory against Everton at Goodison Park last October.
