Liverpool fans probably didn’t need any more convincing that Jurgen Klopp is the right man for the job, but they’ve got it anyway.
The German has shown enough in his first season at Anfield to give fans hope he can take the club higher up the Premier League table in his first full campaign in charge.
And former Reds hero Kevin Keegan, who won three league titles with the club as a player in the 1970s, is firmly on the side of the former Dortmund coach.
“What I like about him is that he wears his heart on his sleeve,” Keegan is quoted as saying by the Liverpool Echo.
‘He kicks and heads every ball, and that passion is one of the reasons fans love him so much. I hope he gets the club back to where it was,” added the former Newcastle United manager, who described Klopp as the “perfect fit” for the club.
With Klopp poised to add Joel Matip and Marko Grujic to his first team next season, with more likely to follow, Liverpool fans will hope Keegan is proved right.
