He's back... finally

It may only be early September but Brendan Rogers is already under increasing pressure as his side take on Manchester United, this weekend.

The club started with a win and draw but humiliation at home to West Ham means both Rodgers, and Louis van Gaal are facing a must win game this Saturday.

While LvG is facing accusations of having yet another training ground bust-up with his players, Rodgers has been a handed a welcome boost on the injury front .

Daniel Sturridge last played for Liverpool back in April before spending the summer in the USA as he recovered from hip surgery. All told, he missed most of the last campaign with various injury complaints.

The England man as been training in Melwood for the last number of weeks but today he took part in his first full contact session with his teammates.

Sturridge is unlikely to be considered for the game but his return will offer up the possibility of forming what looks like a deadly partnership with Christian Benteke in the coming months.

His return has been welcomed by Liverpool fans
