Few things can send dread coursing through the veins of Liverpool fans than the sight of an injured Mohamed Salah.
Salah’s debut season at Liverpool has arguably been the most spectacular of any player in Premier League history and the Egyptian international continued his incredible scoring streak on Wednesday night when he found the net early on in the Reds’ 3-0 victory over Manchester City in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final.
It was all going swimmingly for Jurgen Klopp’s side as Salah’s opener was followed by goals from Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Sadio Mane in the opening thirty minutes.
And while the result was a dream one for the Merseyside club, there was mass panic at Anfield when Salah limped off shortly after half-time with what appeared to be a groin injury.
At the time of writing, the severity of the injury remains unknown but it made for very concerning viewing for Liverpool fans as the business end of the season intensifies.
Next up for the Reds is the Merseyside derby on Saturday before the crucial return leg at the Etihad takes place next Tuesday evening.
With city bragging rights and qualification to the Champions League semi-final at stake in the next six days, it’s no wonder that Liverpool supporters were freaking out over the potential loss of their talisman.
If that's Salah's groin he'll be out for weeks, fucking disaster
