Liverpool fans rubbish depressing stat comparing Jurgen Klopp to Roy Hodgson

Lies, damn lies....

Kevin McGillicuddy

Sometimes the truth cannot be distilled into a simple stat.

Liverpool fans will be feeling bad enough today without their misery being compounded by a statistic that is doing the rounds since the 2-0 loss to Leicester City on Tuesday night.

Liverpool dominated possession but Jamie Vardy undid the Merseysiders which led to Klopp’s sixth loss in 16 Premier League games this campaign.

Naturally it’s been a rollercoaster for fans and the German since taking over as Liverpool boss in October, but the worrying stat emerged when Klopp’s first 16 games were compared to two of the club’s previous managers.

Of course the situations aren’t comparable considering Liverpool fans pretty much hated Hodgson, and he also had a summer to buy and sell players, that included the purchase of Paul Konchesky and Christian Poulsen.

And Liverpool fans were quick to point out that no matter how bad things may seem under the ex-Borussia Dortmund boss, they would not swap him for the current England boss. Ever.

Although some felt the performances are still well below what would be expected.

And some fans are calling for his head.
