Liverpool fans start to panic after Philippe Coutinho’s hat-trick for Brazil

"Never leave us"

Tom Victor

Philippe Coutinho is the top scorer at the Copa America after scoring his first ever international hat-trick.

Sure, it was only against Haiti, but you can only beat what’s put in front of you.

The Liverpool playmaker struck twice in the first half before adding a third in stoppage time to seal a 7-1 win.

That result leaves Brazil needing just a point from their final group game against Peru to guarantee their progress to the knockout stages.

Liverpool fans were broadly split into two camps after waking up to the news of Coutinho’s treble.

Naturally, most were just happy to see their star player turning on the style for his country.

It’s fair to say they’re excited about his potential in Jurgen Klopp’s first full season as manager.

There was a bit of overreaction in among the praise, of course

But attention soon turned to fear, with fans hoping Coutinho hasn’t become so good that it’s impossible for the club to hold on to him.
