Any football fan worth their salt should be able to guess the top three Premier League duos who’ve played the most games together
Liverpool stalwarts Jamie Carragher and Steven Gerrard top the list having featured alongside each other in 382 matches. Trailing in second place with 358 is Paul Scholes and Ryan Giggs, while Chelsea’s Frank Lampard and John Terry get Chelsea the Champions League spot, i.e. third with 351 appearances together.
Manchester United duo Gary Neville and Paul Scholes take fourth with 301 while Jussi Jaaskelainen and Kevin Nolan are perhaps a surprise at fifth spot with 300.
The highest Irishman on the list is Roy Keane. Having played 258 times with Ryan Giggs in the Premiership the two take 12th place, while Shay Given and Alan Shearer come in at 16th with 240.
Interestingly, the only active partnership in the top 26 is between Everton players Leighton Baines and Tim Howard. They are currently 22nd with 226 games but are likely to move up considering that the current season isn’t over yet.
