His contract is up at the end of the season and has refused to sign a new deal
Adrien Rabiot looks set to leave Paris Saint-Germain this winter after refusing to sign a new deal with the French champions.
With his contract running down, his market value is decreasing by the day and PSG will be forced into a January sale if they don’t want to lose the player on a free.
The Frenchman has been linked with a move to Liverpool, but Jürgen Klopp is reportedly ready to look elsewhere in the market after Liverpool ‘pulled out’ of the race to sign Rabiot, according to Football Italia.
It was thought that Liverpool might be able to pull off a deal in the style that they signed Naby Keita; agreeing a fee in January before the player arrives in the summer.
But Liverpool are no longer interested in the player, as Klopp is reportedly now content with his midfield options. Having signed Naby Keita and Fabinho – who is yet to make an appearance in the Premier League – in the summer, Liverpool are hardly short of options in central midfield.
The Reds still have Jordan Henderson, who recently signed a new long-term contract with the club, James Milner, Gini Wijnaldum and Adam Lallana to rotate in central midfield too.
Rabiot should not have any trouble finding a new club given his quality and youth. However, his decision to retire from international football at the age of 23 after he was left out of France’s World Cup squad by Didier Deschamps may lead to managers thinking twice about signing a player with evident attitude problems.
