Liverpool fans roast Simon Mignolet as club wish him happy birthday

Kevin McGillicuddy

Just for one day, could they not leave him alone.

If it’s your birthday you think you should be cut some slack.

At least a cake, maybe a half day at work, even no homework should all be expected on your birthday.

But if you are Liverpool fans, abusing a player takes no breaks for sentimental bullsh*t, especially when it comes to your error-prone netminder.

And so it is with Simon Mignolet, who celebrates his 28th birthday this afternoon. The club wished warm regards by his club this morning on Twitter.

Unfortunately, Liverpool fans were less than complimentary in their best worst wishes.

There was of course a comment about him and cake.

And other comment about cake, which was even worse than the first one.

We like this Netflix insult, creative.

Some thought they had an idea what gift he should be given.

While other fans thought a birthday  for someone else meant you got a present.

And some fans, well they didn’t even try to be nice.
