The man who never made a mistake, never made anything.
Rio Ferdinand thought that he would give the fine folk at the BBC a piece of his mind on Monday after a caller slated John Stones after Everton’s 4-3 reversal to Stoke at Goodison yesterday.
Stones was wanted by Chelsea over the summer, and is a top class player, but Ferdinand felt that he still needed to come to the youngster’s aid with some kind words of support.
And he feels that the youngster has the potential to be one of the best defenders of his generation, but only if he keeps making errors,
“I heard the caller and It’s just typical of people in this country, oh he made a mistake, he tries to do too many flash things. He’s the best kid around at the moment.”
“Give the kid a chance to play and grow and make mistakes, Â he’s got to make mistakes as young kid. Allow him to do that becasue potentially he could go on to play for Real Madrid or Barcelona or the top clubs in this country and be the captain of England.”
Love the fact @rioferdy5 phoned in @bbc606 to defend john stones https://t.co/xr3NWzqYsg
