In any other era, the Real Madrid forward would be the undisputed best player in the world, and while he’s the current Ballon d’Or holder, on 2015 form, Messi appears set to reclaim the title.
It could be argued the photo below, taken at yesterday’s Champions League group stage draw, perfectly captures the rivalry between the pair.
There’s Ronaldo, centre of attention, basking in the limelight that his years of hard work, and undoubted natural talent, have earned… only for the seemingly unassuming Messi to sneak in and grab the spotlight.
