Lionel Messi nutmegs reporter from the other side of the pitch

Jack O'Toole

Barcelona forward Lionel Messi has undoubtedly been one of the greatest footballers to ever lace up a pair of football boots.

The Argentine has scored 552 goals in 638 games for Barcelona. He’s won four Champions League titles. He’s won the Ballon d’Or five-times. He’s won a slew of individual and team honours but at times it’s been training ground footage, or even clips from his home, that have really impressed.

Last month the 31-year-old had his dog chasing his ball hopelessly as he continually toyed with his pet while this week footage emerged of Messi nutmegging a reporter from the opposite side of a training pitch.

The video appears to be apart of an Adidas ‘Here to Create’ campaign. Earlier this month Messi was named Barcelona’s captain for the upcoming season following Andres Iniesta’s move to Vissel Kobe in Japan.

The forward will share the responsibility with Sergio Busquets, Gerard Piqué and Sergi Roberto, who will act as vice captains throughout the upcoming La Liga season.
