Lionel Messi drops his biggest hint yet that he could be leaving Barcelona

Show me the money!

I’ll be off then…

Lionel Messi drives a hard bargain alright.  Surely he couldn’t be looking for more money again?

The Argentine star has piled the pressure on Barcelona – again – by hinting that his future could lie away from the Catalan club.  Just four months after he signed a revised contract at the Nou Camp.

Messi’s current deal doesn’t run out until 2018 but he has already managed to manoeuvre a salary rise for himself and, either he’s looking to do that again or he genuinely wants out this time.

In an interview with Argentine paper, Ole, Messi wasn’t playing it too tight-lipped anyway.
“I’m just living the present,” he said.  “I’m thinking about having a great year at Barcelona and about winning the titles we want to win at Barcelona. Nothing more.

“After that, we’ll see. Football has a lot of twists and turns. I always said that I’d like to stay there forever, but things don’t always work out as you want them to.

“I have said it many times – if it were up to me, I would stay forever. But like I said just now, things don’t always turn out how you would like, especially in football, which is so changeable and in which so many things happen.

“It’s difficult and more so in these difficult times that Barcelona are going through at the moment.”

The message is clear to City, Chelsea, United, Barca and whoever else thinks they can afford him…
