If Manchester City’s mental Champions League last 16 clash with Monaco on Tuesday had finished after 81 minutes, we’d be writing a story about one of the greatest bets of all time.
But Leroy Sane had to get all selfish and get himself on the scoresheet, didn’t he?
City came from 3-2 down to round out a breathless game as 5-3 winners, with Pep Guardiola’s summer signing from Schalke putting the finishing touches on a breathtaking comeback.
Sane’s goal after 82 minutes made Guardiola’s post-match press conference a whole lot easier and sent the Etihad faithful home an awful lot happier than they would had they suffered defeat.
And while Sane’s tap-in gave City fans something to shout about, it left one unfortunate punter roaring at his television in fury.
German Twitter user Mustafa Celik posted the below betting slip to social media on Wednesday, when he told Sane that he owed him €34,200.

A double on the scores of both of Tuesday’s Champions League games was so close to coming through for the punter, only for Sane to leave him tearing his hair out.
The City forward got wind of the losing bet soon after it did the rounds online and posted an apology for scoring.
I read about it in the newspapers … sorry for that poor guy 🙈😅 #inSané pic.twitter.com/Kx6X87Gti3

Although we’re not sure he’d change anything about his goal if he could go back in time.
