The young midfielder left Old Trafford for Juventus in 2012 for the measly sum of £800,000 after a falling out with Sir Alex Ferguson, but has flourished in the Serie A. After leaving for Italy, he has grown into one of Europe’s most highly-touted prospects and was one of the most sought-after targets in the summer window.
Respected French publication L’Equipe have confirmed that a deal has finally been struck between the clubs for €120 million, plus bonuses. According to the report, an initial bid of €101m was rejected before all parties agreed on the fee.
The deal is expected to be officially announced within the next few days.
