Not the card he was hoping for on his birthday.
Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi got sent off on his 21st birthday as the Foxes fell to a heavy 3-0 defeat at home to Crystal Palace.
With the hosts trailing by two goals, the Nigerian midfielder tried to buy a penalty, falling to the ground in the penalty area after brushing past Scott Dann.
Replays showed that there was no contact from the Palace defender, so Ndidi was right to be shown a yellow.
Of course, not only was it a foolish move on Ndidi’s part to try and dupe referee Martin Atkinson, it came only nine minutes after he had received his first booking for pulling back Ruben Loftus-Cheek.
Considering he was already on a yellow, trying to win a penalty through simulation showed the player’s immaturity. He will think twice before trying that trick again. And this is one birthday he will definitely want to forget.
Wilfred Ndidi might be working on his birthday but he’s already got two cards

Hey Ndidi, fancy a pub session at 2pm for your 21st birthday?

Wow. Ndidi is off. Second yellow for a dive. A very bad dive too. If players are going to dive they really need to practice.
