Few title wins have sent shockwaves across Europe in the same manner as Leicester City’s unlikely triumph.
The one-time relegation contenders stunned the footballing world by wrapping up the Premier League title with two games to spare, so much so that they have knocked more illustrious teams off the back pages of Europe’s biggest newspapers.
We can’t imagine the pages of Bild, L’Equipe and Gazzetta Dello Sport paid too much attention to the Foxes in the past, but the achievements of Claudio Ranieri’s team mean you can’t begrudge them their new-found fame.
The success even made it into Argentinian sports paper Ole, perhaps due to the goalscoring exploits of Leo Ulloa this season and last.

How many of us would have expected to see Jamie Vardy on the pages of Germany’s biggest sports paper this time last year?
While the word ‘fairytale’ has been overused, there’s no arguing that Leicester’s journey from relegation candidates to league champions is the sort of universal story that appeals to sports fans from anywhere in the world.
