It makes perfect sense.
Leicester City could be about to lose their main threat. The man they play through. The man that sets the tone, makes them a threat with and without possession.
Claudio Ranieri could be about to lose the same guy whose three-game suspension caused a complete change in line-up at the end of last season.
Jamie Vardy is on his way to Arsenal and, although the Foxes are looking to put up a fight to keep their star striker, it is likely that the English man will end up in London.

Reports on Monday suggested that Leicester were going down an entirely different route with their replacement for Vardy.
But The Guardian were still suggesting that Tipperary’s finest, Shane Long, is high up the priority list at the King Power Stadium.
So he should be.
- They’re the same age – Vardy is only 11 days older than Long.
- They’re both relentlessly energetic, terrifying nervous defenders.
- They’re both obviously lightning quick.
- They’re both late developers whose careers are on a steep, steep upward curve.
- They both thrive when the team is built up to play around them with them at the tip.
And it’s certainly an avenue that the fans want to explore.
It’s a must.

And it’s simple.

Even United fans agree.
If Vardy does leave Leicester they need look no further than Shane Long for a replacement imo.

Best replacement for Leicester if Vardy leaves would be Shane Long. Like for like, and probably available

Liverpool fans are giving up the chase too.
