Noel Hunt is currently without a club, but we doubt he’ll be returning to Leeds United.
The former Republic of Ireland striker has come in for heavy criticism from some Leeds fans after wishing Lewis Cook well on his move from the Championship side to Bournemouth for £6m.
Great step in your career little dude go and boss it!! All the best!! https://t.co/vm9vP11upV
— Noel Hunt (@Noelhunt20) July 8, 2016
Cook had been with Leeds since he was a child, and is regarded as one of the brightest prospects in English football, so it’s no wonder fans of the long-suffering club aren’t happy to lose the 19-year-old.
@boyhunt @lewiscook_ @afcbournemouth “great step”….is that how little Leeds Utd is thought of in 2016 Noel?!

Many took their frustrations out on the former Ireland striker. Hunt failed to score in his 20 appearances for the Elland Road club, and the fans were quick to remind him.
Are u winding me up!!He's gone to a team in the premier league, no offence but what has Leeds done the last 10 years https://t.co/RRFg8IQW0I

And the list goes on and on and on! Don't follow me if me wishing a friend well is upsetting you!! It's pointless pic.twitter.com/89DaV8sSib

@boyhunt for someone like you to belittle are club when you stole thousands of pounds pretending to be a footballer

That moment when you realise you're still following Noel Hunt. 😑 #lufc

You have a dig at Leeds when you scored 0 goals in 20, you get an answer like this back. Not rocket science Noel…

Hunt didn’t back down, and made a number of valid points.
Its got nothing to do with size of club its whos more successful in the present, tell me LUFC are better than AFCB? https://t.co/RRFg8IQW0I

@boyhunt they’ve almost been as unsuccessful as you!

Not at all its a great club with a huge potential Im as sorry it didn't work out as any body! But facts are Facts https://t.co/Xp1QWf5yn2

But reason had long left the argument, Hunt had come to embody all the ills of Leeds’ years in the wilderness.
@scott79richmond @boyhunt @WACCOE @lewiscook_ @afcbournemouth pity Hunt failed so miserably otherwise we wouldn’t be selling youth

sadly nothing because of a number of terrible signings like yourself, who´d been better off in retirement.

Even those that agreed with Hunt found it hard not to have a dig.
