Stephen Henderson is sure to spark some debate with these comments on Ireland’s footballing culture.
While everyone’s gaze has been firmly fixed on the goings on in France with the national team, the Cobh Ramblers boss is focusing on the entire landscape of Ireland’s football culture from the domestic league system all the way up to the tippy top.
Henderson’s Cobh Ramblers defeated Athlone Town on Friday, a club whose finances have seen better days. However, they aren’t the only Irish club struggling at the moment and Henderson pointed that out by admitting that his club can’t fill their own stadium.
He soldiers on though, because he genuinely cares about the state of the League of Ireland and developing young talent, a passion he believes is absent from certain people in positions of power in the Irish scene.
Twitter is about opinions & thoughts . Here are mine based on my experience of football in this country .
