This could be bad news for those who want Jurgen Klopp to manage Liverpool.
The former Borussia Dortmund manager has been linked with replacing Brendan Rodgers at Anfield for months. And with each poor Liverpool result, the cries for the German get louder on social media and amongst the fan base.
Klopp’s success at Dortmund means the 48-year-old can arguably dictate his terms whenever he takes his next job, and that’s why Liverpool’s owners are fearful of hiring him, according to Oliver Kay.
The Times journalist said in a webchat earlier today that Fenway Sports Group “seem a little worried about appointing a forceful personality” and that the Americans “seem to want a coach who fits unquestioningly into their model.”
Oliver Kay: (On why FSG won't go for #Klopp "FSG do seem a little worried about appointing a forceful personality" #LFC

This would suggest FSG want a yes-man in charge, but Kay says this doesn’t automatically make Rodgers that yes man.
Kay: "Rodgers is a forceful personality too, though — perhaps a little too forceful for FSG. I'm probably saying they want a yes man" #LFC

@Riaz1982 The "Yes man" line seems to have been taken out of context. I was talking about FSG model generally. Rodgers isn't a yes man

Kay appears to be saying that Rodgers isn’t a yes man, but fits more into FSG’s model than Klopp. And should the club decide to change manager, they’re unlikely to want someone with such a forceful personality.
However, FSG also wanted to use “Moneyball” tactics when recruiting players, and ended up with Andy Carroll. Their current view over what type of manager they want could also change if the club miss out on the Champions League again.
