The campaign continues

While Stephanie Roche may not have the name recognition of James Rodriguez or RVP, she is rapidly getting there. The Irish player is battling the two global superstars for the honour of Fifa’s Goal of the Year gong and she has just added another big name recruit to her push.

Laurent Blanc, the current boss of PSG, has told Fifa’s website just how much he loves the goal.

“It’s beautiful, magnificent, pity there wasn’t more of an atmosphere (crowd) to celebrate it a bit more,” Blanc said when the goal was shown at PSG’s press conference.

“I don’t know if she’s going to win the prize, we’ll see, but her goal is very beautiful, if it had been in a Champions League final or in a match with 100,000 spectators it would have caused a sensation.”

Don’t forget, you can vote for Stephanie’s goal right here, not just because she is from Ireland, but because it is the best.
