He was reportedly rushed to hospital last night
The father of Spanish wonderkid Lamine Yamal has been rushed to hospital after being stabbed in a car park last night, according to reports.
35-year-old Mounir Nasraoui was in the Spanish town of Mataro when the incident occurred around 9.10 pm local time.
According to Spanish outlet La Vanguardia, local residents claimed Nasraoui got into an argument with a group of individuals while walking his dog.
A fight ensued and Nasraoui was stabbed multiple times.
He was taken to the nearby Can Ruti hospital by ambulance in a serious condition but Relevo and Mundo Deportivo have since reported that he is ‘out of danger’.
Spanish police have since arrested three people accused of attempted murder according to El Mundo and authorities are appealing for witnesses as they try to piece together how the incident unfolded.
Footage of the alleged initial confrontation has been released which shows Nasraoui being led away by Police.
17-year-old Yamal became the star of the European Championships after he became the youngest player to play in the competition and later, the youngest to score.
He was a key member of the squad as Spain beat England in the final to be crowned European champions.
Nasraoui has been one of his biggest supporters and once claimed his son could be ‘greater than [Lionel] Messi’.
The 35-year-old, originally from Morocco still lives in the Rocafonda neighbourhood of Mataro where Yamal was raised.
He himself had dreams of becoming a professional footballer but was unable to make the cut.
Nasraoui followed his sons journey across Germany as he went on to win the Euros with Spain earlier this summer.
