Kolo Toure sets himself up for massive fall after suggesting he could play for a La Liga superpower

He's been good but...

We have to admit that we are not fans of players talking themselves up.

Anytime someone says he’s on a good run of form, or expects to score loads of goals the next time he goes out on the pitch, he inevitably has a stinker.

Kolo Toure performed well in Liverpool’s 1-0 Capital Cup win over Stoke on Tuesday night we’re all agreed, and now he’s suggested his recent run of decent, but hardly spectacular form, could see him play for Real Madrid.

The former Arsenal man has been very much second choice at Liverpool since his switch from Manchester City, but due to a severe injury crisis, is likely to be pressed into action for the club over the coming weeks at centre-half.

His contract runs out at Liverpool this summer, and we’re sure he’s joking, at least we hope he is, when he mentioned that a move to Spain might interest him.

“If I can play like that then maybe I will go to Real Madrid. I don’t know what I’ll do at the end of this season but I’d like to stay in the Premier League.

“My kids are here and it is difficult to move. I am loving every day but God knows where I will be in a year’s time. But I hope it’s playing football because I love it.”

We know he’s joking.

He’s joking isn’t he?!
