Kilkenny youngster to fulfill every boys dream at the Arsenal-Manchester City game next week

10-years old and making waves

Kevin McGillicuddy

We were never the cutest of children so naturally we didn’t get picked for much outside school activity

Now that  you mention it, we weren’t very good at sport either, so we didn’t get picked for anything. *sob*

So we feel it’s perfectly acceptable to be insanely jealous of Ewan Gilsenan  who will get to do something very special next Monday night when arsenal host Manchester City.

The youngster, who’s from Inistoge in the south of Kilkenny, told radio station KCLR96fm today that he will be the first mascot that leads the teams out on the pitch at the Emirates.

Ewan, whose dad is a West Ham fan, spoke to John Walsh and revealed his excitement at heading to London,

“I didn’t really have to do anything but I’m a junior member at Arsenal. I got picked out of a hat and my dad didn’t even know at the time I was being picked out of a hat. The news came as a big surprise to me as I didn’t even know I was in the draw.”

He also told the radio station about his current thoughts on Arsenal’s attacking options

“A few of them are injured, Giroud is the only striker we’ve got at the moment and with Ozil, I think he’s a good player but he’s not unreal – he’s not as good as we thought he’d be.”

Ewan will get to meet all the players and will get a detailed look around the Emirates as well before the 8pm kick off and his arrival on the pitch with both sets of players.
