In every sense of the phrase, Louis van Gaal can hardly talk.
There may not be much of a back-and-forth between Wayne Rooney and LVG at Old Trafford, seeing as the United boss hasn’t got a clue what his captain is saying half the time.
The Manchester United manager revealed toDutch TV, via the Mirror, that it finds it difficult to comprehend what England’s record goalscorer is saying because of his accent.
“When I speak, I am well articulated. If you put Wayne Rooney here in the seat, and you start talking to him, do you think people can understand Wayne Rooney? You simply can’t understand what he says.”
First of all, trucks are “articulated”, you are articulate, LVG. Well, actually scratch that, you are definitely not.
However, van Gaal did have some good things to say about Rooney, claiming the United skipper is one of the best players he has ever worked with.
Considering LVG’s worked with the likes of Luis Figo, Ronaldo, Arjen Robben and Bastian Schweinsteiger, that’s a pretty huge compliement.
