Paul Pogba’s move to Manchester United has made significant progress

Robert Redmond

We know, we know. You’re probably sick of the Paul Pogba to Manchester United stories by now.

But seeing as we’re here now, and there’s been a significant development in the story, we may as well press on.

United are expected to officially bid for the Juventus midfielder on Wednesday, according to The Guardian. A club representative will meet with the player’s agent Mino Raiola, and Juventus directors Giuseppe Marotta and Fabio Paratici.

United will reportedly offer £87m for Pogba, and a further £13m in performance related add-ons.

However, Juventus want £100m, without any add-ons, before they even contemplate selling the 23-year-old.

According to The Guardian report:

“The Serie A club will meet United to get a sense of whether they would be prepared to raise their offer and will then talk to the player and Raiola. Pogba has not yet said that he wants to leave the club and the deal is likely to hinge on him demanding a move.”

United will offer Pogba a contract worth £250,000 a week.

There’s still quite a way to go before a deal is completed, and there’s no guarantees it will be done. But the fact the three parties are discussing the move represents progress, as far as United fans are concerned.
