Juventus chairman has promised the team an incredible bonus if they beat Real Madrid

Not that they should really need any extra incentive...

Simon Lloyd

Let’s be honest, multi-millionaire footballers, playing in the biggest game in European club football shouldn’t really need much in the way of added incentives to win.

But just in case Juventus’ stars aren’t quite up for giving their all when they face Real Madrid in Cardiff’s Champions League final on Saturday night, club chairman Andrea Agnelli has made them a promise.

According to Dani Alves, Agnelli has promised each player a brand new Ferrari if they can prevent Zinedine Zidane’s side from defending the European crown they won for the 11th time in Milan last year.

Agnelli, an Italian billionaire, can probably comfortably afford a fleet of new supercars as it is, but his time working for Ferrari might ensure that he can negotiate mates’ rates.

Alves, who signed for the Turin club last summer, last featured in a Champions League final in 2015, when Barcelona defeated his current side.

Juve have already won another Serie A title this year and the Italian Cup, meaning they will complete a treble with victory over Real.

It is still unclear if Gareth Bale will feature for the recently-crowned Spanish champions. Having missed much of the season with injury, there have been conflicting reports about whether he will start the final in his home town.
